Parents, grandparents and caregivers of primary school children in Sydney, Australia, who speak a language other than English are invited to take part in a survey on school-family communication.

The research focuses on how parents/caregivers use online and offline communication to engage with others and help find information as their children experience life in school.

The project aims to develop strategies to help make the school experience more rewarding for parents and carers as well as children, and to improve communications between schools and families and enhance cultural inclusion.

Participation involves an online questionnaire (5-10 mins) answering 19 questions reflecting on communication experiences and preferences.

The research project is being conducted by academics from the Faculty of Arts at Macquarie University, Sydney.

The survey is currently available in English, العربية (Arabic), 中文 (Chinese), and Español (Spanish).

For further information, or if you are also interested in being involved in a short interview on this topic via phone or Zoom, please contact the lead researcher, Dr Lauren Gorfinkel.
