Xiaoxiao Chen 陈潇潇
Xiaoxiao Chen (陈潇潇) is a PhD candidate in the Department of Linguistics, Macquarie University. Under the supervision of Ingrid and Kimie, she is working on a thesis about the representation of China as a tourist destination in the New York Times and China Daily. Her research interests are in tourism discourse, globalization, and intercultural communication and her PhD project asks how the discourse of Orientalism is intertwined with contemporary travel writing about China.
