Vahid Parvaresh is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the University of Isfahan, Iran, where he also teaches in the undergraduate program. He works on a PhD thesis about general extenders in Persian and English. He received his MA in Applied Linguistics from the University of Tehran, Iran, in 2007. His research interests are in discourse analysis and cross-cultural pragmatics. Vahid is currently a visiting scholar at Macquarie University with a scholarship from the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. Vahid has been a fan of Language on the Move since its beginning and is delighted to serve as the Persian language editor!
